Barbara Kotler was born in Brooklyn, New York...
She moved to New Jersey with her parents at an early age, where she attended New Jersey public schools. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Kean College, Barbara taught first grade till she met and married Dr. Barry Kotler, her present husband of fifty five years. They have three sons and eight grandchildren. When her husband opened his first medical practice she happily went to work in his office as his office manager, for thirty-four years.
What Killed Doctor K.? reflects an insiders candid observance of the medical world from the 60's through the 90's.
These were the years of major changes in medicine, some of which depicted conflicting times.
Although she always loved to write, her writing was limited to college essays, short stories, and articles in newspapers. Since retiring to Florida in 1999 and joining The Writers Colony of The Delray Center Of The Arts, Barbara has been writing non-stop. She is active in this group by moderating monthly "open readings" and establishing "Writers On The Go," where she and other members participate in community programs.
She is now working on her second book, Dear Grandchildren.
